Performed pre-employment screening and post occupational illness/injury care for over 800 area companies including; audiograms, vision screening, lab tests, DOT physicals, DOT driver screens and breath alcohol tests. Responsible for management of day-to-day operations of Healthy Workers Program, 1st NH hospital to be state certified as integrated case management organization for workers compensation. Worked with area businesses to establish continuum of care between provider, insurance company, employer and employee in accident prevention, employee wellness and risk management.

Clinical and administrative director of a successful 10 bed acute rehab unit. Also responsible for providing administrative support for two sub-acute programs and was QA/QI director for the entire program. Acted as Rehab Nurse Liaison performing onsite evaluations for the three rehab programs.

RELEVANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Administration
-Worked with Vice President and Q.I Director of hospital as well as Priority Care Manager to gain program certification by the State of New Hampshire. Developed a process with the emergency department and employers to see each occupational health injury within 1 business day of an injury. Typically an injured worker was seen within two hours of the injury.

-Co developed Care Mapps that outlined plan of care for total knee replacements & strokes (CVA). This streamlined the continuum of care from Dartmouth Medical Center to our institution through the local VNA, decreasing length of stay for THRs from 3 weeks to 7 days.

-Hospital Committee Member that co-developed policy and procedures for establishment of clinic that included Reiki, Jin-shin Jitsu, Acupuncture, Polarity and massage therapy and community education.

-Evaluated and reworked rehab units daily nursing progress notes and care plan process to meet JACHO, CARF and state guidelines. Successfully passed state survey with no deficiencies or recommendations.

-Developed policies and procedures for Therapeutic Touch and Reiki, as well as a specific documentation system for staff use on the units.

-Spoke to several local community organizations on topics ranging from QiQong to nutrition to energy healing and herbology.

Organizational
-Organized and oversaw on-site Health Fairs that produced additional income to the Portsmouth clinic.

-Organized and supervised a successful seminar for health care staff on The Magic of Healing with Sharon Kozar, student of Depok Chopra.

-Co-organized and provided treatment at the Healing Arts Clinic.

-Organized and sponsored successful seminar with guest speakers on Aromatherapy.

-Delivered numerous Reiki seminars that include the VT chapter of rehabilitation nurses.

-Instructed three successful Womens self defense courses that were provided free to the public.

Program Development
-Co-developed 11 therapeutic groups for three rehab units, increasing their therapeutic activity by 1-2 hours per day up from 3-5 hours per day.

-Developed and organized six interdisciplinary classes in a rotating three week cycle to educate both patient and family on stroke recovery. Topics included, but were not limited to sexuality, nutrition, anatomy of a stroke, bowel and bladder management, community re-entry and medications.

-Developed and co-instructed a successful relaxation group which included a variety of meditations.

Education / Training
-Spoke to Woman's Cancer Support Group on alternative treatment options related to recovery.

-Spoke to Respiratory Support Group on topics of both alternative medicine and QiQong and their disease process.

-Taught an eight week Tai Chi course offsite.
Spoke at National Conference of Rehab Nurses in Dallas (1998). Topic was Healing vs. Curing.

-Co-developed and wrote pamphlet for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) survivor and his family.

-Co developed and taught a Therapeutic Touch course to hospital staff.

-Co-organized and presented at a one-day conference for health providers and lay persons on Alternative Medicine in Ascutney, VT.

Fund Raising / Grant Writing
-Co-wrote successful grant application for first Stroke Support spouse/survivor support group in VT.

-Co-wrote grant and administratively organized 1st VT Stroke Conference which included vendors, survivors, family members, and health care professionals.

-Co-organized, developed and wrote grant for seminar The Music of Healing with internationally known Steve DiNunzio.

-Worked closely with Development office in securing a $50K gift that supported a part-time position, Director of Complimentary Medicine over a three-year period.
